This is one of our favorite treatments because of how effective it is, how natural, fast, and inexpensive it is for Mom and Dad. It is so practical that very parent should seek a consultation, whether with Dr Nieten or another dentist/orthodontist who offers treatment with the T4K, to see if and how this amazingly simple innovation could benefit their child. There's absolutely no excuse not to. Below are before and after Orthodontic Treatment Images of some of Sonshine Dental Care's younger patients (ages 6 - 10) who have completed our 6 month Phase I treatment phase with the Pre-Orthodontic Trainer, the Trainer For Kids, or T4K.

These patients are our youngest orthodontic patients,

usually between the ages of 6 & 10,

and have only completed Phase I Orthodontics, which is our foundational phase in orthodontic treatment. This phase consists of a special orthodontic and myofunctional rubber trainer (called the T4K), and the young patient is required to do some exercises with it in the mouth throughout the day. It is best if these exercises are done with a parent especially at first to make sure the exercises are done and done properly. We also ask that the patient wear it when they sleep. This is often a time when improper muscular habits take place without our realizing it. This phase primarily corrects destructive muscular habits that are often the primary culprit in younger children where crooked teeth and jaws that are out of proportion are present. A good deal of noticable tooth straightening does occur however when the exercises are done faithfully. Parents enjoy the fact that this phase is quite inexpensive. Parents are rewarded as well when this phase is implemented while their children are young, because the later phases of orthodonics will take less time, cost less, and the results will last longer. This is because the T4K phase corrects the child's destructive muscular habits, facilitates proper jaw developement, and goes well beyond justs stopping the damage in process. It actually corrects much of the damage that is already done.
