First of all it is important to mention that we see surgery as potentially invasive and intrusive to the body, and not a natural approach. We are not entirely against surgery, but if there is a way to treat a condition effectively while avoiding surgery, we believe that would be a better option. While we perform minor surgeries such as tooth extractions, seldom to never will we recommend or agree with a procedure such as a major jaw surgery for orthodontic purposes. This type of procedure is almost always unnecessary and there are almost always better and more natural alternatives.

As we mentioned before, traditional orthodontics limits itself by focusing far too much on only the patient's teeth. These doctors usually wait until the patient is a teen to begin treatment, causing loss of optimal treatment opportunity. Our Full Face Functional Orthodontics prepares the patient for the teeth-straightening phase by first retraining muscular patterns, and then correcting bone position and development, while the patient is still young . Then finally the teeth are straightened. Only when the muscular habits and bone shape and position are changed first to accept changes in tooth position can the absolute best results be achieved in the minimum amount of time.

Our Full Face Functional Orthodontics is also more natural and effective because of the consideration we give to another factor that should not be overlooked: the patient's age. This is closely related to our Muscle, Bone, and Teeth approach in that muscle and bone must be addressed, while the patient is still young. There are two significant reasons for this: First, when it comes to the muscle, the old saying "old habits are hard to break" applies here. In order to correct harmful muscular habits, it must be done while the patient is still young and teachable, and before too much damage is done. Secondly, when we address bone matters, we take full advantage of the young patient's growing stage and do our bone moving and growing while it is already occurring naturally. We are then not forcing changes, but rather we are simply guiding and influencing naturally occurring processes already in progress.

This is in harmony with God's design for growth and "remodeling", thus making it more natural. It also creates more lasting results because it is more comprehensive, looking at both the cause and the effect, not just the effect.

This little trainer is one of the greatest orthodontic innovations ever developed! Most orthodontic problems occur during childhood and are created by poor breathing and muscular habits. Our Bracket and Wire system (more affectionately known by most as "braces") is very special and worth describing. The orthodontic wire used at the heart of this system was named Bioefficient due to several very unique qualities. It is pre-formed in a "Roman Arch" or "Divine Proportion" and comes equipped with a built in memory. With this memory, the wire doesn't need to be "tightened" or "adjusted".Instead it wants to return to that original "Roman Arch" on its own, gently bringing the teeth with it. The wire is further designed to deliberately apply different amounts of force in different places (stronger forces on larger teeth, lighter forces on smaller teeth), biologically applying the correct amounts of pressure in the locations where it is needed.

The Brackets we use to hold that arch wire are a very advanced and special design as well. They are specially designed to straighten teeth more naturally and effectively by moving the whole tooth from tip to tip, and not just the crown of the tooth, leaving the root tip behind. This is accomplished through the unique triangular design which produces the most gentle, natural, and effective means of moving teeth, and results in a far more stable condition with far less chance of relapse.
