We believe it is important to
go beyond just telling our patients what to do to improve
their oral health. We help them understand why it works
and how it works so they are truly involved in their own
oral health, not just blindly following a doctor's instructions.
We do whatever we can to make optimal oral health practical
in several ways.

1
- At Sonshine Dental Care, we
don't just repair damage after it is done as many orthodontists
and dentists do.
Whether that damage is tooth decay, crooked teeth, gum disease,
TMJ disorders, or bad breath, we
would much prefer to help our patients avoid as much of
this damage as possible than to just correct it after it
is already done.
Of course we will help you if you are already experiencing
any of these conditions, but
we would much rather help our patients understand what that
actually causes these conditions and what they can do to
avoid them all together.
Dr. Nieten and his staff work hard to make it clear to their
patients that the conditions listed above are a direct result
of some of their daily habits and actions, but some
small changes in these habits can help them avoid these
conditions entirely. Our patients find this preventive approach
to orthodontics and dentistry extremely practical and refreshing.
2 - Because we make our
patients are made aware of how they can reduce
(or even eliminate) many dental and orthodontic conditions
by following very simple and practical measures, dental
and orthodontic costs are reduced significantly, which appeals
to all families!
3 - We also keep our patients'
costs down by avoiding unnecessary
or non-beneficial procedures (that
other dentists may provide routinely) such as:

4
- At Sonshine Dental Care, we realize that every family
that comes to our practice with a different set of needs
when it comes to lifestyle, finances, and timing. We never
want to see a family sacrifice oral health because of money,
convenience, or anything else. We
are very helpful and flexible in setting up treatment plans
and finacial arrangments that fit various lifestyles, but
honest in letting our patients know what will probably not
work for them and why. That is why we want you to tell
us what your needs and possible hinderances are so that
we can help to work out the best treatment options to fit
your finances, your timing, and your lifestyle. We
want to make your families' oral health as practical for
you as we can.
